Without anyone enforcing a deadline on you, you could spend a few hours or even a week on a track. It is completely up to you.&nbsp;<br></h4><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333">I have found in the past that this <b>freedom</b> has sometimes had a <b>negative effect</b> on my <b>productivity</b> though. Something along the lines of ‘It’s ok if I watch this next episode of ‘House of Cards’ now - my latest Library track can wait until tomorrow’. This could sometimes go on for days, zapping my productivity especially if my passive income from sites was healthy that month.&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333">I have found it very useful to <b>set myself productivity goals</b>, with small rewards (such as letting myself buy a sample library)&nbsp; if I manage to achieve those goals. I used to find if I was having trouble coming up with the next 30 seconds of a piece, I would automatically try to find some way to avoid the problem and would inevitably turn to social media or forums such as VI Control.&nbsp;</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><b>Cold Turkey</b> is a cool little free program which enables you to block yourself from certain sites, for a specific amount of time. It really does work - short of reinstalling your OS, it will completely ban you from any site which you have told it to.&nbsp; (Even if you try to uninstall it!)</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333">Another free program I find great for time management is <b>Manic Time Tracker.</b> This is a small program which runs in the background of windows, logging how much time you spend in each application or document. Something along the lines of ‘It’s ok if I watch this next episode of ‘House of Cards’ now - my latest Library track can wait until tomorrow’. This could sometimes go on for days, zapping my productivity especially if my passive income from sites was healthy that month.&nbsp;&nbsp;</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333">I have found it very useful to <b>set myself productivity goals</b>, with small rewards (such as letting myself buy a sample library)&nbsp; if I manage to achieve those goals. I used to find if I was having trouble coming up with the next 30 seconds of a piece, I would automatically try to find some way to avoid the problem and would inevitably turn to social media or forums such as VI Control.&nbsp;</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><b>Cold Turkey</b> is a cool little free program which enables you to block yourself from certain sites, for a specific amount of time. It really does work - short of reinstalling your OS, it will completely ban you from any site which you have told it to.&nbsp; (Even if you try to uninstall it!)</font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333"><br></font></p><p style="line-height: 1.38; margin-top: 0pt; margin-bottom: 0pt;"><font color="#333333">Another free program I find great for time management is <b>Manic Time Tracker.</b> This is a small program which runs in the background of windows, logging how much time you spend in each application or document. An AC/DC track may come up, followed by a cue by Alan Silvestri, followed by a Vaughan Williams Symphony. I find this tremendously useful and inspiring, listening to elements such as the instrumentation or structure.&nbsp;</span></h4><h4 style=""><font color="#333333"><br></font></h4><h4 style=""><font color="#333333">I also find it useful to<b> take a break</b> and <b>head out for a walk</b>, if I find myself having trouble writing. <b>Nature</b> can be a great source of inspiration and I often find during a walk, ideas will come to me more easily. <b>Always carry a phone</b> or recording device so you can get your thoughts down wherever you are!&nbsp;</font></h4><div><br></div>',

One argument is that you should make every piece as good as it can possibly be, giving it all the time it needs. The other is that you should focus more on providing a higher quantity of tracks, with this often having a detrimental effect on the quality of music.&nbsp;<br></h4><p style=""><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); letter-spacing: 0.1px;"><b>My view</b> is that you should aim to produce your <b>absolute best work</b> <b>every time</b> you write a track, especially at the beginning of your library music journey.&nbsp; Make sure that you are not spending days and days on a track, but equally learn to write at a speed where you can achieve a </span>high <span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); letter-spacing: 0.1px;"><b>quality two minute track</b>, in two or three days.&nbsp;&nbsp;</span><br></p><p style=""><span style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); letter-spacing: 0.1px;">It is far <b>better</b> to have <b>five stand out tracks</b>, rather than ten mediocre tracks, especially if these tracks will be published on sites such as Audio Jungle. <b>Invest your time into increasing the quality</b> of your tracks as much as you can.
