A good example for this sub-category is Tim Burton’s Batman, brilliantly scored by Danny Elfman</p><p>Released in 1989, this superhero film was a critical and financial success. It also paved the way for a new wave of marketing techniques related to superhero film genre.&nbsp;</p><div>[vzaar=20107020]</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div>Before exploring the techniques used by Elfman for the construction of his theme, let’s ‘render to Caesar what belongs to Caesar’. The treatment in <u>imitation/contrapuntal</u> form also brings sense of gloom by referring to the old music from the ‘dark ages’.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>The motif is built around a <b>minor </b>chord, and is characterized by a final descending <b>chromatism</b>.
